A quick jaunt from the city of Rome is the town of Tivoli, built on the slopes of the Sabine Hills. Hadrian's Villa was built by Emperor Hadrian in the second century A.D. as a country residence. It features the imperial palace, baths, libraries, and gardens full of sculptures and pools. Nearby is the Villa d'Este, built during the late Renaissance by Lucretia Borgia's son, famous for its gardens, marvelous fountains, waterfalls, and ancient trees.

From April to September: Available daily in the afternoon (except on Mondays). The tour starts at 3.00pm from Vastours bus terminal (free pick-up service is provided from centrally located hotels between 2.15pm and 2.45pm).
In October: Available daily in the morning (except on Mondays). The tour starts at 8.30am from Vastours bus terminal (free pick-up service is provided from centrally located hotels between 7.45am and 8.15am).
From November to March: Available on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. The tour starts at 8.30am from Vastours bus terminal (free pick-up service is provided from centrally located hotels between 7.45am and 8.15am).
Going up and down some flights of stairs is part of the tour.
The tour price includes the admission fees for both Hadrian's Villa and for Villa d'Este.
